Why Does It Smell Like That?

Mkay, gonna be honest here.

We thought the title of this blog was far too funny not to use. Then we realized we couldn’t write an entire blog about smells because:

A. That’s weird.
B. There really isn’t that much to say.

So, we’re expanding the investigation.

Weird smells. New noises. Random rattling. The occasional bang that everyone in the house chooses to ignore.

“It’s always done that.”

Has it, though?

Your HVAC system shouldn’t be humming, clanking, squeaking, or smelling.

If it does, it could be totally harmless. Dust burning off after the heat kicks on for the first time? Normal. A faint rattle from a loose vent? Probably not the end of civilization.

But electrical smells, musty air, banging, grinding, or anything that’s new and getting worse? That deserves more than a generous spray of Febreze and another week of denial.

We’re not NOT telling you to panic every time your house makes a noise.

We’re saying new smells and sounds can be early signs of an HVAC problem, even if everything appears to be working normally.

Worst case, everything’s fine.

Best case, you catch a small issue before it puts a comma in the repair bill.
