5 Questions to Ask Before Upgrading Your HVAC System
Upgrading your HVAC isn’t like buying a toaster. It’s more like buying a car... only this car sits outside, works 24/7, and keeps you from melting in July. Translation: it’s a BIG deal. And if you pick the wrong one, you could end up sweating, shivering, or spending waaay more than you bargained for. No bueno!
Before you hand over your hard-earned cash, ask these 5 questions:
1. Is this system the right size for my home?
Hate to break it to you, but BIGGER ain’t always better. Too big, and the system short-cycles. Too small, and it’ll run nonstop. Either way, you lose.
2. What’s the energy efficiency rating?
Basically: how much is this thing gonna cost me to run every month?
Higher SEER ratings = lower bills.
A higher SEER rating means your system doesn’t have to break a sweat to keep YOU from breaking a sweat.
3. What’s included in the warranty?
Warranties are like prenups for your HVAC. You hope you’ll never need them, but when sheeet hits the fan (pun absolutely intended), you’ll thank your lucky stars you got it.
4. What kind of maintenance will it need?
Spoiler: every HVAC needs some TLC. Ask what kind of upkeep is required and if your contractor offers a service plan. (Like we do. Just test us “AIR” to sign up).
5. Will this system work with my thermostat and other tech?
Trust us, nothing is worse than dropping thou$and$ on a shiny new system only to discover your old thermostat won’t work with it.
At Heritage Air Services, we cover ALL of this. No jargon. No pressure. Just straight answers so you can feel confident your new system will keep you calm, cool, and collected... and nowhere near those annoying emergency repair bills.
Stay chill, my friends.
